Interact Symposium 2024

Thursday 19th September 2024, Northumbria University, Newcastle

An Engagement Symposium for the Physical Sciences

The landmark symposium will be returning on Thursday 19th September 2024. This year the event will be hosted by Northumbria University in Newcastle. There will also be a reception event to be held on the evening of Wednesday 18th September for delegates to informally network. Registrations are now open.

This event offers something for everyone with an interest in improving their public engagement capabilities. It will provide a fantastic opportunity to learn new ways to engage with your communities, a chance to share your experiences and good practice, explore funding routes for engagement and discuss how the engagement landscape should evolve. Above all, it will be a chance to share your experiences with like-minded people in a relaxed and welcoming environment.

Session Submissions

Building on past symposia, the Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC), The Ogden Trust, the Institute of Physics, the South East Physics Network (SEPnet), the Royal Astronomical Society (RAS), and Northumbria University are partnering together to co-create an inspiring, challenging and refreshing programme with you, the physical sciences public engagement community.

On behalf of the planning group, we look forward to seeing you at Interact 2024.

“A key priority for Interact is to support and enable the physical sciences community to carry out impactful research linked engagement with audiences otherwise not provided with opportunities to access the sciences.”
